The Smith Foundation is dedicated to empowering youth by helping them build self-esteem and achieve personal growth. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. While we do not operate camps, we provide financial support to help children attend camps that foster personal development, including outdoor activities, the arts, and STEM programs. These camps expose kids to new experiences, encourage a growth mindset, and help them develop essential social skills like teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
By ensuring access to these transformative experiences, the Smith Foundation equips youth with the tools they need to succeed in school, their careers, and life, ultimately promoting their overall well-being and success.
Imagine a child being told to ride a bike without ever being taught. Imagine a teenager being told to drive a car with no formal lessons. It is often said the children are the future. The Smith Foundation agrees. Consequently, it is our noble responsibility to show them the way by sharing life experiences through wisdom and teaching. Learning is essential to advancement. That is why bikes have training wheels and that is why teenagers have driver’s education. The Smith Foundation is here to facilitate prosperity among our overlooked youth.
Without a shadow of a doubt, my grandfather was the single most influential person in my life. He was more than just my grandfather. Clarence C. Smith was my father figure, my mentor and my support system. I started The Smith Foundation with my own money and time in honor of our family name as a way to give back to people who are less fortunate. It was time to make my grandfather and family proud! - Michael Smith
